David O'Rourke

David O’Rourke has been working as a professional Artist for over 20 years. He has exhibited nationally and internationally and his artwork can be found in homes around the globe.

David takes inspiration from both the muted greys of the Irish landscape and the intense colour and light of Australia.

His work can be considered postmodern- recycling and appropriating past styles in a modern day context. His work can vary from tongue-in-cheek social commentary, to the intensely personal.

David has also been involved in almost all aspects of art locally; from setting up Artist’s collectives to the development and running of The Ennis Fringe Festival.

He has also worked extensively as an educator with local schools, with charities such as Enable Ireland, and is currently working with Clare Local Development Company.
